Mad Max 2 - Japan magazine spread.

Unfortunately I don't know the name of the Japanese publication that these two pages are from but here they are showcasing a nice selection of BTS shots from Mad Max 2.

Cinema Papers - Australian Dystopia

Here's an article from Cinema Papers that covers Australian dystopian movies up until the end of the 80's. The Australian film industry was smaller and somewhat more insular then as opposed to today and through the article you can cross reference and connect people that were part of of these productions. Two significant productions from this period, Hard Knuckle and Sons of Steel, are omitted from the piece but I suspect they may have just missed representation by mere months between publishing of the article and their release dates. Hard Knuckle also features two Mad Max alum's, Steve Bisley and Kjell Nilsson.

Prevue -Thunderdome preview.

A Beyond Thunderdome preview article from PREVUE magazine. Clearly they had some flooding issues on parts of this movie also.

Who Killed the World promo_Alternate shots

Regarding the "Who Killed the World" promos, they were very nicely art directed with what might be alternate takes from sequences in the Fury Road. The whole thing seems to carry a sign of approval from the powers in charge to be canonically faithful to the source material and in that respect there are a few images from this piece exclusively that are not in the movie. In particular there is a very nice depiction of Scrotus, although mostly in silhouette it still gives him a formidable presence. Now it could have been done, along with the shots of the tanks and Gastown in photoshop or some other image rendering tool but somewhere along the process the right conversation was had and that Scrotus image was borne out of it. Would you consider that Scrotus image to be canon? I also like the extra shot of Crow Fishers abode and the full shot of the Warboy standing on Max after his opening crash.
