Dead Run

Dead Run is a post-apocalyptic comic mini series that was just recently released in a collected volume by Boom Studios.
Here's the Blurb...

"DEAD RUN tells the story of NICK MASTERS, the go to guy for getting what you need in the wasteland once known as the United States of America. Nick's a driver, the best there is. If you need something picked-up, delivered, or disposed of, Nick's you man. And he's all business. But when he fails to deliver an important package to a local crime lord, Nick's business suddenly becomes very personal. With DEAD RUN, BOOM! Studios bring the science-fiction action in the vein of MAD MAX to comics."

I picked myself up a copy at The House of Secrets in Burbank and even though the story contained a lot of familiar ideas and conventions from the PA genre I still had an enjoyable read. Francesco Biagini's artwork is creative and lively. Just study some of his panels to see the nuances and cleverness he applies to the armour and weapons of the mutant bikers! There is also a sketchbook section and a collection of excellent covers from the original series featured throughout the volume.
